The Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) has called for immediate arrest and prosecution of those involved in the brutal murder of a 22-year-old woman at Old Ministers’ Hill, Kohima on October 25.

🔹 SAPO Calls for Urgent and Decisive Action

In a press statement, SAPO President Er. Tepul Hopovi and General Secretary Tepungosa Sale urged the Nagaland state government and police department to take “immediate and uncompromising action” to deliver justice.

“We appeal for swift intervention and decisive steps to ensure justice is served without delay or compromise,”
the organization stated.

🔹 Strong Condemnation of the Heinous Crime

Expressing solidarity with the victim’s family, SAPO strongly condemned what it described as a “heinous and barbaric act” that violated community values, social ethics, and justice principles.

The organization demanded a transparent and time-bound investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. SAPO stressed that those responsible must face strict legal consequences under the law.

🔹 Demand for Transparent and Speedy Investigation

SAPO emphasized the importance of a comprehensive and transparent investigation. It urged the law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned in pursuing the case and gathering strong, irrefutable evidence to ensure a just conviction.

“We expect the police to carry out a meticulous probe so that the judiciary receives a complete and clear understanding of the case,”
the statement added.

🔹 Reaffirming Commitment to Justice and Public Safety

The organization highlighted that the tragic killing reflects the urgent need to strengthen public security and enforce the rule of law in Nagaland.

SAPO reaffirmed its commitment to justice and assured full cooperation with the investigating agencies throughout the process.

It also encouraged citizens to remain alert and report any suspicious activity or relevant information to the police to aid the investigation.
