The Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) has announced that the coaching camp for CWA-selected wrestlers for the upcoming Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) Championship 2026 will begin on February 19 at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.

CWA General Secretary Kukhoto Venyo stated that Huvesu Puro and Surhoneyi Soho will serve as head coaches, overseeing the training and preparation of the selected wrestlers.

Senior Category Wrestlers Selected

The CWA has finalized the list of wrestlers in the Senior category, which includes:

Venuzo Dawhuo (CAWA), Hiiliiyi D, Vadeo (SWA), Venu Vadeo (CRWA), Mulusu Veswuh (CRWA), Thuputha Hesuh (SWA), Kuluvezo Soho (PAWA), Besuhveto Cumu (CAWA), Nubasa Rhakho (PAWA), Kiivenii Puro (SWA), Khriethoveyi Veswuh (CRWA), Venuto Nyekha (CRWA), Rukukhoto Khusoh (CRWA), Sukhrure Domeh (SWA), Sasiiyi Nyekha (CRWA), Vevokho Ruho (CAWA), Muleciyi Vadeo (CRWA), Mululhu Nienu (CRWA), Vemele Thingo (CAWA).

Under-15 Category Wrestlers

The Under-15 category selected wrestlers include:

Kutho Puro, Zuve-o Keyho, Mutuve Dozo, Bizo Chizo, Mudoto Dozo, Chure Pohena, Beceve Vero, Cekrovezo Resuh.

CWA Honors James P K Sangma

The CWA expressed gratitude for James P K Sangma, who attended the 30th Chakhesang Wrestling Championship 2026 at Pfutsero on February 7 as the Special Guest.

CWA General Secretary Venyo stated that Sangma’s inspiring speech and letter of support had a deep impact on the wrestling community. His encouragement to preserve and promote traditional Naga Style Wrestling has motivated the wrestlers to aim for national recognition beyond their community.
